SHADOWS OF THE BEATLES

Gary writes songs, records music, and creates films exploring the sound and stories of The Beatles. Born in South Yorkshire, he grew up with transistor radios, steam trains, and a fascination with the music changing the world around him. He taught himself guitar on a Woolworths special and began a lifelong journey of songwriting.

That journey eventually took him across the Atlantic, where a new chapter began with Val. Their story became Shadows of the Beatles – A Transatlantic Memoir of Love. Today, he brings a musician’s ear and a storyteller’s curiosity to their recordings and films, sharing the details that make music mean so much.

Val brings her love of art, storytelling, and vocal harmony to the creative partnership she shares with Gary. Born in Chicago and raised in a Polish-American household, she grew up surrounded by musicals and jazz records, drawing comics and imagining stories of her own. Discovering The Beatles at thirteen added a lasting musical inspiration.

As co-creator of Valgary, she sings, writes, and helps shape their shared creative world. Her voice and experiences are woven through their music and the transatlantic love story at the heart of Shadows of the Beatles. Together, she and Gary continue to turn a lifetime of music and memories into something they can share.
